Rooms and Facilities

Villa Astra is spread over three floors and is a large sized family home. The ground floor is the main living area with kitchen and utility room, dining room, lounge and separate toilet. Stairs lead down to the lower ground floor where there is a further family lounge/games room with a bar area. The first floor has three bedrooms; two doubles and one with bunk-beds. One bedroom has an en-suite shower room whilst the other two share a large family bathroom. The two double rooms have direct access onto a secluded roof terrace.

Set in good sized gardens, the 8x4m pool is surrounded by a south-facing Istrian stone terrace and lawn, complete with a stone BBQ and veranda this is the perfect area for alfresco, shady dining for up to 8 people. The pool has non-slip steps and is of a constant depth of 1.5m.

The open plan kitchen and dining room is spacious and well equipped. An extendible dining table comfortably seats up to 6 whilst the adjacent dining balcony has an additional, extendable, teak dining table which can seat a further 8 people. This is an ideal terrace for breakfasts or for evening dining on those occassions when you don't want to use the BBQ dining terrace.

The large lounge offers a quiet area for you to relax indoors. An armchair and sofas give seating for 6 and the 3 seater sofa converts to form a good sized double bed for extra guests. French patio doors lead off from the lounge onto a small seating balcony and the traditionnally designed Istrian stone fireplace can be used to good effect on cold winter evenings.

A staircase from the utility room leads down to the family lounge and games room. This room is equipped with a good selection of games and a monitor TV with DVDs and videos. There is also a bar area with table football. The futon can also be used as a double bed to accommodate extra guests.

Stairs from the dining room lead to the first floor landing which gives access to three bedrooms and a large family bathroom. The two double rooms have king-sized beds whilst the third room is equipped with sinlge bunk-beds and an extra mattress. One of the double bedrooms has an en-suite shower room and both double bedrooms have direct access onto a large roof terrace.

The roof terrace is private all day long but perfect for sunset drinks or nighttime stargazing using our telescope. We have witnessed some fantastic sunsets from here and on clear days have been amazed to see the sun glinting off the Italian Alps over 130km away.
